The Tupperware Shape-O – also known as the Tupperware Shape Sorter – is a cheerful classic that has managed to fascinate children and adults for generations. The children who came over here picked it up with the same pleasure every time. What makes this Shape-O so special is that the toy grows with the child. For babies of about 8 months, it is a rattle and a cheerful rolling ball. For toddlers, it becomes a true discovery ball full of shapes, colors, and numbers. They learn how something rolls, how it moves, and how to put shapes in the right place. This way, they develop not only their fine motor skills but also their spatial awareness and concentration. Each of the ten shapes has a unique shape and a number on it. On one side are numbers that you can see and feel, and on the other side are tactile dots. This teaches children to count and recognize quantities, even by touch. This also makes the toy suitable for children with a visual impairment. The openings in the ball are adapted to small hands, and thanks to the flat surfaces, the ball rolls in a different direction every time – making it extra interesting for curious little ones.

But what not everyone knows is that the Tupperware Shape-O has also found a second life in elderly care. In various care facilities, it is used for people with dementia or Alzheimer's, because sorting shapes and colors continues to stimulate the brain. It is also a nice way for the elderly with rheumatism or osteoarthritis to keep their hands flexible and their joints moving. This proves that the Shape-O is not only fun for young children but can also be valuable for the elderly who want to remain active.
